Located in the Caribbean Sea to the south west of Martinique about 3 km from the “Pointe du Diamant”, the Diamant rock is a small uninhabited island 175 m in height.
It owes its name to its general shape, pointed and bevelled, as well as the reflections from its walls at certain hours of the day, suggesting those of a gemstone.
The Rocher du Diamantis a nature reserve providing protection for the birds … but especially for the course snake, near extinction.
However, you cannot go onto it: it is forbidden! But diving at the base of the Diamant is a very good sport. Able to see the seabed, in as much as 5 to 40 meters of depth, you can see an abundant underwater fauna and flora.
