The Pointe des Châteaux is a peninsula that is situated at the extreme east of Grand Terre. Only 11 kilometres from Saint François it is easily accessible and is a tourist “must” when staying on Guadeloupe. It has a huge cross and to the left of the point there is the beach of GrandesSalines where large waves come to die.

The climb up to the MornePavillon, a small hill at the end of the Pointe des Châteaux, as far as the large cross, is not as easy as it appears … but the view over La Désirade and Grande Terre justifies the effort! If the weather is nice, Les Saintes, Marie Galante and the Soufrière are also visible.
