Restaurant

The Jungle Bay’s Seaview Restaurant has a spectacular view over the Caribbean Sea and the fishing village of Scott’s Head.

Menu selections incorporate influences from contemporary cuisine, adapted to take advantage of the island’s organic ingredients and Caribbean flavor. Each selection is carefully prepared with a focus on healthy and freshness.

Dinner menus rotate each evening providing an array of catch of the day, seafood, chicken, vegetarian and vegan dishes.

o   Breakfast 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m has a range of fresh fruit juices, local in season fruits, freshly baked breads, local coffee etc.

o   Lunch 2.00 noon to 02.30 p.m includes tasty yet healthy choices of unique culinary creations served with the freshest salads and deserts.

o   Dinners 6.00 p.m. to 09 p.m. are creative combinations of locally grown produce prepared with a daring flare.

 


“BAMBOO” SPA

Jungle Bay’s “Bamboo Spa” features 14 private spa suites for various blissful wellness therapies.

Professional spa therapists are trained to top international standards and will treat you to memorable experiences including massages, pedicures, foot therapy, manicures and facials to renew your body and spirit.

The relaxing therapies are inspired by ancient traditions and blend natural ingredients to bring the body into balance and harmony. The island’s forefathers introduced us to their philosophy on wellness and healing treatments, which we share with our guests in the form of indulgent spa experiences.

 

Daily half-hour spa treatments per adult are included on the Jungle Wellness Adventure Package 


Activities and leasure

The hotel organizes daily scheduled hikes & activities around Dominica – excursions to explore hidden waterfalls, natural hot springs, as well as the better-known Dominica attractions like the Boiling Lake (in the UNESCO World Heritage Site); other outdoor activities including kayaking, and snorkeling. On-Site activities at the hotel include Caribbean cooking classes, herbal presentations & garden tours. 

 

The beach
The beaches of Soufriere & Scott’s Head are a short drive from Jungle Bay (approx. 5 minutes).

Yoga
Jungle Bay is designed to host Yoga and other Wellness Retreats and has two yoga studios 233m2 each -- the largest yoga facilities in the Caribbean. Daily yoga beginner’s classes are offered at the hotel and are included in the Jungle Wellness Adventure Package.

Water Sports

Kayaking & snorkeling. Scuba diving (at an extra) is available 5 minutes from Jungle Bay (transfers will be organized by the hotel and are at no extra charge).

The cottages are spacious and feature wood furnishings all 'designed & built' at the resort. They are perched like birds nests, tucked away on a hillside between Cedar, Gomier and Galba trees.

  • Entrance conditions

For French, European or foreign citizens, a valid passport must be presented or a visa if applicable and a return air ticket. The identity card is accepted for French nationals. All visitors must complete an immigration form to submit to the authorities on the site.

 

  • Amount of allowedduty free

 You can carry up to 200 cigarettes (or 2 cartridges), or 100 cigarillos, or 50 cigars, or 250 grams of smoking tobacco and 1 liter of alcohol (over 22 degrees) or 2 liters of liquor (less 22 degrees).

No vaccinations are required unless you come from an area with a risk of disease. However, it is always wise to be up to date with recalls DT-polio and hepatitis A (or B).

Tap water is drinkable.

The climate is tropical and humid, with temperatures generally ranging from 26 ° C during the day in January to 32 ° C in June. The driest season runs from January to May. Hurricane season can extend from June to November.

The local currency is the East Caribbean Dollars EC Dollars.

The U.S. Dollar is also accepted at a fixed rate: 1US $ = EC $ 2.67, (as of May 2013) according to the exchange rate of the day.
