THE ROCHES GRAVÉES Trois Rivières On Basse Terre, in the municipality of TroisRivières, the archaeological park of the RochesGravées is easily accessible by foot, on a walking track. You will discover the hidden treasures of the site and its 230 stone carvings, the most impressive of which are the representations of busts and faces.
The origin of this work dates back to the time of the Arawak Indians who had taken up residence on the island. The carvings drawn on the rocks are a wonderful testimony of the presence of this people on Guadeloupe.
The park also has numerous botanical treasures, including medicinal plants widely used by the Native Americans. The RochesGravéespark is the most beautiful exhibition site, in total nature, featuring stone carvings, created by the Arawak Indians.
