Day 2: Morne-à-l'Eau Cemetery
Located
in the heart of Grande-Terre Island, the village of Morne-à-l'Eau is home to a cemetery that is as exceptional as it is surprising. The black and white checkered graves give the whole place the appearance of a giant chessboard. This makes the cemetery a very popular destination for visitors! Every year on All Saints' Day, the Morne à l'Eau cemetery is lit up by thousands of candles placed on the graves. It's an experience not to be missed if you're in the Guadeloupe Islands at this time of year!
Overnight stay at La Créole Beach Hotel & Spa****

Day 3: Memorial Act
Located
in Pointe-à-Pitre, the Memorial Act is a unique place dedicated to the memory of slavery and the slave trade. You will have the opportunity to visit several exhibits: the permanent exhibition, Morne Mémoire, the Memorial Garden... all spaces designed to raise awareness of the reality of slavery and pay tribute to its victims. It is definitely a cultural site worth visiting!
Overnight stay at La Créole Beach Hotel & Spa****

Day 4: Habitation Murat
‍Head to
Marie-Galante Island! In 1839, Habitation Murat was the largest sugar cane plantation on the islands of Guadeloupe, with nearly 207 slaves. It ceased operations at the end of the 19th century, mainly due to the collapse of sugar prices and the abolition of slavery. The beautiful building is said to have been designed by Jeanne LABALLE, wife of Dominique MURAT. Today, the site has become an eco-museum of Popular Arts and Traditions, tracing more than three centuries of Guadeloupe's sugar history. The garden is spectacular and offers unobstructed views of the ocean.
Overnight stay at La Créole Beach Hotel & Spa****

Day 5: Fort Napoleon
Fort Napoleon
is a must-see in the Saintes archipelago! Originally built for military purposes, it now houses a museum dedicated to the history of the Saintes. Its location at an altitude of over 110 meters allows visitors to enjoy an exceptional view of the entire Baie des Saintes, recognized as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Accessible in 20 minutes on foot, a visit to the site will also give you access to the Fort's Exotic Garden, renowned for its succulent plants, which are very popular with iguanas.
Overnight stay at Jardin Malanga

Day 6: Fort Delgrès
Located
in the commune of Basse-Terre, Fort Delgrès or Fort Royal is a former fortified house dating back to 1650, where Charles Hoüel, governor and seneschal of Guadeloupe, once resided. Over time, the fort has become a symbol of the Franco-English struggle in the Caribbean, as well as the fight against slavery. It owes its name to Officer Louis Delgrès, who became famous for the latter struggle. Numerous exhibitions are held regularly, and free tours are offered several times a week.
